Western Spiraea

Spiraea douglasii

The Douglas or Western Spiraea is an easy-care, fast growing shrub native to the Pacific Northwest. The fluffy spikes of pink flowers bloom June-September.

Native Americans used the seeds for medicinal teas. Currently, this deciduous shrub is often used in restoration projects because of its adaptability to drought, sun, shade, or boggy soil.
