Blue Potato Vine, Chilean Potato Bush
Solanum crispum glasnerium
The Blue Potato Vine has unusual, exotic, lavender-blue flowers with bright orange centers. A vigorous growing shrub that will bloom spring-fall.
Use in the garden container as a showstopper or train espaliered on a wall or trellis.
This distant cousin to the kitchen potato looks nothing like a potato. The name itself is misleading and does not begin to describe how gorgeous this semi-evergreen shrub truly is.
Care Tips: This Solanum is listed as hardy to zone 7, but there has been mixed feedback of it being fragile even at zone 8. To be on the safe side we recommend you plant it in full sun, on or next to the house to ensure winter protection.
